elated?

i HATE the canadian postal service. that’s right canada post you suck ass. 2 packages that were supposed to get to be have been sent back to Europe, and the first, when resent has disappeared into the canada post vacuum, with no one apparently responsible for it.

This is the response I got from the Canada Post:

Thank you for your message to Canada Post.

Canada Post is under no obligation to scan items originating from foreign countries therefore we cannot provide you with a delivery confirmation or tracking information. If your item is detained by Customs, they will scan your item into the database, but once it is released from Customs, there will be no further scans.

We suggest that the sender contact their local postal administration to initiate an inquiry, as the originating country is responsible for tracing their own items. You may wish to confirm with the sender that they had your correct address. You can also try calling your local post office as the item may already be waiting for pick-up. If the item cannot be delivered for whatever reason it will be returned to sender.

The problem is, I’ve contacted the sender and the Royal Mail can’t get any information from CP, which obviously still have the package, since if it was returned it would have been rescanned in the UK, and my ‘local post office’ has recently (i.e. after this package should have arrived) has just closed and they haven’t built the new one yet, so I’m not quite sure who they expect me to ask about it.

And now my boots, which I tried and tried to find in Canada have been returned. I got an email from Germany this morning asking if I want them to resend it. I want my boots, but after the experience thus far I think I’m going to avoid biting the bullet and just settle for not having my boots. My heart is broken though.

Brutal. Seriously brutal.
